Catalan cluster visits Denmark
Great dialogue and a huge potential for cooperation were the key words when a large Catalan delegation visited Denmark on June 13-15, 2018.
A large delegation from one of Europe's absolute hotspots in health innovation, Catalonia, recently completed three intense and promising days in Denmark. The delegation from the Cluster Salut Mental Catalunya consisted of decision makers from municipalities and hospitals with focus on mental health, brain research and integrated healthcare, vulnerable youth, elderly care and dementia. The purpose of the visit was knowledge sharing and dialogue about potential collaborations with Danish partners.
Welfare Tech led the delegation through a programme which included an introduction to the Danish healthcare system, dialogue about municipal dementia efforts, matchmaking session, networking and presentations of Danish companies' products and services. There was also a visit to Enrum Care Center, where the participants experienced the garden of senses, and at University College Copenhagen's Practice & Innovation House, several of the participants tried products such as Wellness Nordic's calming rocking chair.
Statement from Marta Sánchez Brét, Cluster Manager of Salut Mental Catalunya:
- The group valued the design of the agenda very much, as well as the diversity of topics that were addressed during the different visits. The Danish Health model and system, and more specifically the Dementia support program (Dementia Friendly City) was benchmark knowledge to take home. The innovation, through models as Co-lab or the House of Practice & Innovation, is referred to as outstanding elements during the visit. Additionally, the fact of being able to have business meetings with Danish companies in Who is Who sessions, as well as present in front of Danish companies and network at business informal social dinners, enhanced the opportunities of generating future projects.
Join Welfare Tech's fact-finding trip to Catalonia
The potential for cooperation between the Catalan and Danish participants was strongly confirmed, and preparations for Welfare Tech's fact-finding trip to Catalonia have already begun. The trip will take place on September 25-28, 2018.
Mental Health Cluster Catalonia has broad knowledge of the mental and neuro health market through their members, and the cluster works as a national entry point for international companies who want to enter the national market. The membership organization holds members from private industry, public organizations, research and education institutions, mental health providers, hospitals, community services and technological centers.
If you are interested in participating in the trip, we will be pleased to hear from you as soon as possible. Participation in the fact-finding trip programme is free of charge - you will just cover your own travel expenses.
The visit is part of the DEMtech project, funded by BSR Innovation Express.
